Did you know that our brains have between 50,000–70,000 thoughts, our lungs breathe 23,000 times, and our hearts beat around 115,000 times daily? Moving toward positive body image includes intentional efforts like body appreciation. We can practice body appreciation by accepting our unique features, caring for ourselves (eating sufficiently, getting enough rest), and being thankful for all that our bodies do for us. So take a moment right now to express gratitude toward the many amazing things your body offers.

My deepest gratitude and appreciation to my esteemed colleagues and friends (Drs. Tracy Tylka and Casey Judge) who joined in this venture to create The Positive Body Image Workbook: A Clinical and Self-Improvement Guide. Our collective vision was to combine research and clinical interventions in one workbook for clinicians, clients and the general reader on positive body image. For clinicians, we offer treatment planning information, valid assessments, and assignments that can be used in session or as homework for clients. We offer information about different aspects of positive body image and practical assignments for the general reader. We hope that this workbook serves as guidance and inspiration for all who read it! Check out my future posts that will include information about different aspects of positive body image.
