What’s the purpose?
To receive in-depth information about the different components of body image by participating in a thorough clinical interview and assessment
How do I inquire about this service?
Call or email to schedule a free brief phone consultation to receive information about how the body image assessment and feedback process works. If it is determined that this service is appropriate and desired, you will schedule an appointment(s)
Appropriate for individuals who:
  • Would like information about body image to assist in their own self-improvement
  • Are considering engagement in psychotherapy focused on body image treatment
  • Are currently involved in psychotherapy and would like specific information about body image interventions. In this scenario, it is important that the treating mental health provider is informed/aware of this assessment process. You will be asked to sign a release of information for the mental health provider. It is your decision as the client whether to share the specific information to assist in your treatment.
What can I expect during body image assessment and feedback?
  • Initial appointment
  • Completion of clinical interview and assessments
  • 1-5 sessions (50 minutes) total
  • Review findings from assessments during a feedback session that includes recommendations and resources

To move from negative body image toward neutral or positive body image

Any individual can move toward positive body image with effort and commitment

Appropriate for individuals who:
  • Want specialized services focused on body image issues and are willing to commit to an episode of care for treatment
  • Want to move toward positive body image
  • Are in recovery from an eating disorder and are able to maintain recovery-oriented behaviors such as maintaining consistent nourishment & abstaining from maladaptive behaviors (e.g., self-induced vomiting, laxative use, misuse of medications/substances)
  • Referred from another medical/mental health professional
Not intended for individuals who:
Have active eating disorder symptoms that require intensive treatment

  • Problem & goal identification
  • Treatment planning
  • Body image intensive work
  • Wrap-up of treatment, review skills
  • Booster sessions (if/when needed)

  • Nearly 20 years providing treatment for body image issues within a variety of behavioral health settings
  • Assisted individuals of all genders from ages 12-76 years
