Holidays can present unique challenges for those with eating disorders from food choices (e.g., what & how much to eat) to how to refrain from undesirable behaviors like binge eating. Here are a few effective skills: a) make a specific plan in advance for eating to minimize uncertainty about food choices, b) create a list of coping skills in your phone to use when urges arise, & c) identify who from your support system will be available to connect with when you’re feeling most vulnerable.
